Loki is the birth son of the Frost Giant Laufey, the King of the Ice realm. Odin killed Laufey and declared war. When Odin saw Loki as a kid, he embraced him - This began a prophecy foretold by Odin's daddy, Bor.
Loki was not like his brother Thor, He was a mischievous kid, and was frequently also jealous of the affection Odin showed his older brother Thor. He began studying science and Asgardian magic, each of which he would grow to be rather proficient in becoming one of the sorcerers from the Asgard. Loki is well known for cutting off Thor's love, Sif's golden hair. Thor forced him to restore it. Loki then enlisted two dwarves to accomplish this, but when he refused to cover them, they made new, black hair, out of nothing.
Loki appears as the primary antagonist from the Avengers film, once again played with Tom Hiddleston. After being dropped somewhere in the world at the conclusion of Thor, Loki comes in contact with the Other and a higher power, who provides him with historical wisdom and a new function along with a Scepter and an army, the Chitauri, in return to the Tesseract. Loki through his hands manipulates Erik Selvig, a friend of Thor, to create a system that would be able to exploit the power of the cube.
Finally Loki activates it for himself, and is transported across the realms where he's attacked by U.S. soldiers which he disperses easily. In addition, he manages Agent Barton (Hawkeye), whom he uses to escape the base until its destruction. Loki, now in Germany, stages a diversion for Barton who heads a replica of a safe base in search of Iridium. During his diversion, Loki comes face to face with Captain America and Iron Man and allows himself to be caught. While being transported to SHIELD, Thor arrives to reunite to Asgard which results in a battle between Iron Man, Captain America and Thor, to Loki's amusement. In SHIELD custody, he's put.
